Can I charge my electric vehicle directly in the wall socket?
We will not recommend it. You must have both earth-fault circuit breakers and proper surge protection to avoid the risk of fire.
Also, using ordinary wall sockets or engine heater sockets is very slow and not designed for the high load of charging an electric car or plug-in hybrid over a long period.
But with a properly installed EV charger, you can charge your car quickly, safely, and reliably.
How to choose the circuit breaker specifications?
It is generally recommended that the rated current of the circuit breaker should be slightly higher than the rated current of the load circuit or greater than the sum of the maximum currents of all electrical products in the circuit.
For specific recommendations, it is advisable to consult with an electrician.
What if the charger doesn't reach its maximum power?
- To protect the car battery, the charging speed decreases and the
power reduces as the battery becomes fuller. - Check the circuit specifications.
- Check if the vehicle is set to the maximum charging current or check
the maximum charging current or power supported by the vehicle. - For an APP version wallbox, the initial default charging current is set
to the minimum value of 6A. It is recommended to turn off the “Start
charging by button” function, adjust the charging current to the
desired value, and then click "Start Charging." The selected current
value will be saved, and subsequent charges will use the previously
set current value by default unless changed.
